MONERO

Contribute

Monero is open-source and community-driven. Described below are several ways to support the project.

Support the Network

Practical, high-impact contributions that strengthen decentralization and security.

Run a node

An easy and effective way to help the Monero network is to run a node. Nodes keep the network safe and decentralized. A fully synchronized node is enough, but you can also run an open remote node to let others connect.

Mine

Mining ensures the safety of the network and rewards you with XMR. Monero uses RandomX🛈, an ASIC-resistant algorithm developed by Monero contributors, which aims to remain mineable by consumer-grade hardware (CPUs).

Develop

Monero is open source and permissionless. Contributors are welcome across the ecosystem.

Fund specific work via CCS or support the general fund for long-term resilience.

Community Crowdfunding System

Monero utilizes a community crowdfunding system where projects are proposed for development and funded by the community. Funding is held in escrow and remunerated to developers once programming milestones are achieved. Anyone may generate new proposals or fund existing ones.

General Fund

Donations to the general fund are used for emergencies or need. Infrastructure costs are currently covered by sponsors.
